- Communications Company (AmCanTranConComCo), decides to bring back Bob's
- comic book. Unfortunately Bob's new co-worker wants to turn Mad Dog
- into a vicious, crazed vigilante.

- Director Michael Zinberg has also worked on both of the previous
- Bob Newhart series, particularly the original Bob Newhart Show.
- In addition to directing many episodes, he was an Associate Producer,
- Producer, and eventually Executive Producer for the series. He also
- directed several episodes of "Newhart". His most recent credits
- prior to "Bob" was directing many episodes of "Quantum Leap".

- Marvel Comics recently began a series of "Mad-Dog" comic books.
- Each issue is split in two parts, one the classic original Mad-Dog
- envisioned by Bob McKay, and the other a vicious, crazed world
